The Boys' Brigade was the first uniformed organisation for boys, being established on 4th October 1883 in Glasgow by Sir William Alexander Smith. Within a few years the BB had spread to England, Wales and Ireland and from there would spread out across the world. The BB is still going strong and in 2008 celebrated 125
years of work with boys and young men.
Here in Tipton our BB Company (3rd West Bromwich) is based at Grace Community Church in Newhall Street, Princes End and this year celebrates its 30th anniversary having been registered in 1979. The Company works with boys and young men aged 5 - 18 years. All groups meet on Monday evenings. The Anchor Section for 5 - 8 year olds meets from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m., Junior Section for 8 - 11 year olds meets from 6:15 - 7:45 p.m. and Company Section for 11 - 18 year olds meets from 7:45 - 9:45 p.m.
